The Missouri Quizbowl Alliance hosted the 2015 NAQT Missouri Qualifier on March 7, 2015 at the University of Missouri-Columbia under the direction of Jeffrey Hill and Alex Dzurick. Twenty-six teams from seventeen schools participated, including a tournament record-tying eleven schools eligible for the small school title. Hallsville A defeated Savannah 355-200 in the first game of an advantaged final to repeat as tournament champion, also taking the small school title for the third consecutive year.
In stark contrast to the previous year's Qualifier and the two preceding Saturdays, which featured many shortened or canceled tournaments due to winter weather, it was a sunny day with a high of 63°F, prompting tournament co-director Jeffrey Hill to present a "most improved" award to "the weather" during the awards ceremony.

Format
The tournament used NAQT IS-144 with untimed NAQT rules. Due to an ongoing MSHSAA requirement, some gameplay rules were modified to match MSHSAA rules, most notably that players had to be recognized by name before providing an answer to a tossup.
The twenty-six teams were divided into a pool of 6 teams and four pools of 5 teams, and each played a round robin for the preliminary rounds. The top 2 teams in each pool, as well as the top two third place teams by fewest losses, then greatest points per bonus, remained in contention for the championship, and were divided into 2 equal pools of 6, which each played a round robin. After round 10, the top 2 teams in each championship pool played crossover games for rounds 11-12 and any necessary finals or tiebreakers to determine 1st-4th.
The remaining 3rd and 4th place teams from the preliminary rounds (8 total) were ranked by position in pool, then record, then points per bonus; these teams were divided into two pools of 4 that played round robins in rounds 6-8, followed by the top 2 in each crossing over in rounds 9-10 for 13th-16th place, and the bottom 2 in each crossing over for 17th-20th place. The fifth and sixth place teams from the preliminary rounds played a full 6 team round robin for rounds 6-10.

In Round 12, Hallsville A and Savannah were both undefeated, effectively beginning a best of three final. Hallsville won the first two games 465-225 and 355-200 to repeat as overall and small school champion!
Evan Heronemus of Savannah was recognized as the top scorer with an average of 108.75 points per game in the preliminary rounds. Officially recognized as the second highest scorer with 105 points per game in the preliminary rounds, Jared Lockwood of Hallsville had the highest average when considering the entire day, with his 106.7 points per game barely edging out Evan's 103.3 points per game.
Thanks to the outstanding tournament staff and the cooperation of all attendees, the tournament successfully repeated the standard of efficiency set by the previous year's tournament, beginning round 1 around 8:50 AM and completing round 13 by 4:15 PM.
MOQBA Award for Outstanding Student Involvement
During the awards ceremony, the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance presented the fourth MOQBA Award for Outstanding Student Involvement to Jared Lockwood of Hallsville High School for his numerous commitments to coaching, mentoring and writing for younger quizbowl players. [1]
