Jared He is a quizbowl player at the University of Waterloo. He played on the Waterloo team that won the 2024 DII ICT, along with Caleb Ott, Micah Colman, and James Ah Yong, and with Mattias Ehatamm, Michael Du, and Liam Kusalik, he played on the Waterloo team that placed 4th and 9th at 2024 ACF Nationals and 2025 ACF Nationals, winning the undergraduate title at the latter. He is acknowledged as being the first in a line of excessive Anki users on the Waterloo team, notably having many cards composed of audio clips from popular music. He edited the Movies content for the Waterloo-produced trash set HONK!, and was instrumental in its production through sheer writing volume.
