Johnson County Middle School is a 7-8 middle school in Paintsville, Kentucky. Johnson County is currently coached by Pamela Burton. It has participated in the MSNCT in 2015, where it achieved 8th place out of 128, tying with Longfellow A, Sutton and Miami Valley School (middle school). The team also placed eighth at the 2016 MSNCT. At the 2015 Middle School National History Bowl, Johnson County gained 6th place, losing by just 50 points to eventual winner Longfellow. Top players include Brandon Fairchild, who led the team to 8th place at the 2015 MSNCT, achieving 65 PPG in the process. Johnson County has also competed at the JNAC in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. At the 2015 JNAC, they placed third. In March 2016, JCMS hosted the first ever JCMS Invitational, run on an NAQT set and rules.
