James W. Robinson Secondary School is a school in Fairfax, Virginia. It is a 7-12 secondary school with a middle school and high school included. Both schools regularly attend quizbowl tournaments.
In VHSL, Robinson was part of the VHSL Northern Region until the 2014 VHSL Realignment. Between then and the 2018 VHSL Realignment, the school was part of VHSL Region 6A North. Starting with the 2017-18 season, Robinson will be part of VHSL Class 6 Region C, a.k.a the Occoquan Region.
Robinson defeated McLean by 40 points to win the 2017 6A VHSL State Championship. Robinson placed second at the 2009 and 2013 VHSL Northern Region tournament. They were runners-up at the VHSL Region 6A North in 2017. Robinson won the Patriot District tournament in 2005 & 2007, and the Concorde Conference (later called Conference 5) tournament in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017. They placed second in the Concorde Conference (5) tournament in 2011 & 2015.
Beginning in 2017-18, Robinson will again return to the Patriot District; however, the district will not include the same schools as the original (pre-2008) Patriot District.
