Caleb Kendrick is a former player for Maryland, Oklahoma, and Norman North. Consistently ranking highly in end-of-season polls, he was considered one of the best active generalists in the game.

Caleb is a frequent and well-regarded editor, particularly of philosophy and "Thought" questions; this includes work on 2017 Thought Monstrosity, 2019 Terrapin, 2020 Terrapin Open, and 2023 Chicago Open. He has strong opinions on how best to select topics for and write philosophy questions, contending, e.g., that one should "resist the urge to write philosophy as though it were literature" [1].

Playing Career

High School

Originally from Oklahoma, Caleb attended Norman North High School, which he led to its first NAQT Oklahoma State Championship title in 2014. The following year, Norman North repeated as state champions, and went on to place T-34th at that year's HSNCT and 21st at PACE NSC, with Caleb himself placing 11th and 6th in the overall individual rankings respectively. Caleb was named an Honorable Mention for that year's HSQBRank All-World Teams.

College

Caleb attended the University of Oklahoma for undergrad, where he, Maia Karpovich, and Finn Bender achieved several strong finishes at ICT and ACF Nationals, including claiming the Division II title at 2016 ACF Nationals and the Undergraduate title at 2017 ICT.

After graduating from Oklahoma, Caleb began a graduate program at Maryland. In 2019, he led a Maryland A team featuring himself, Graham Reid, Justin Hawkins, and Weijia Cheng to a fifth place finish at ICT, and fourth at ACF Nationals. More recently, the duo of himself and Vishwa Shanmugam led Maryland to a T-5th finish at 2022 ACF Nationals, and the following year Caleb led Maryland sans Vishwa to a T-5th finish at 2023 ACF Nationals.
