Scattergories is a series of very hard, whimsical open side events written by Will Nediger. There have been four iterations so far, running in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, respectively. The third of these was written in collaboration with Jaimie Carlson. Players have highly praised all four Scattergories sets. Will, JinAh Kim and Mike Bentley are writing a fifth set for Summer 2021.
Since all Scattergories sets are avowedly vanity tournaments, they skew towards things Will likes, but otherwise cover a wide range of topics in literature, arts, thought, and a lot of 'mixed' (sensu NAQT) questions.
The libfix -gories spawned in 2020 and has been used to name vanity packets such as "Taylorgories" or "Victorgories", although a real description communicates better than "questions on things the author ostensibly likes".[1]
