The Lions would continue their success again the following season this time winning the 2007 [[IHSA]] Class A (Small School) Championship in only their third season of competition.

Lutheran School Association High School is a private school in Decatur, Illinois. It competes in Class A, the "small school" division, of the Illinois High School Association's State Championship series. The Lions also compete in the Lincoln Prairie Conference. They are former members of the Little Okaw Valley Conference & League of Extraordinary Bowelers

The program was started in 2004. Coached by Ann Ryherd & captained by her son Jonathan, Lutheran quickly became one of the top small schools in Illinois. Remarkably, they would go on to not only win their Sectional but finish 4th at the IHSA State Tournament in 2006, narrowly missing out on the state championship. The Lions would continue their success again the following season this time winning the 2007 IHSA Class A (Small School) Championship in only their third season of competition.

Lutheran's state title was the first Decatur-area title since Warrensburg-Latham in 2001 and is the area's most recent to date.
