The Byron High School (Byron, IL) Scholastic Bowl team is among the most successful in IHSA history, having qualified for the State Finals seven times (twice in combined field, five times in Class A), winning the Class A State Championship in 2000 and placing second in 2008. In addition, they have been a perennially strong team in the Northern Illinois region under coaches Carol Nauman, 2012 IHSSBCA Hall of Fame Inductee Donna Pinson, and 2010 IHSSBCA Hall of Fame Inductee Larry Schnorr. They compete in the Big Northern Conference, traditionally contending with Winnebago and Burlington Central for the conference title.

The 2000 State Championship team was led by Matt Childers and in 2013 was inducted into the school's sports Hall of Fame. The 2008 Runner Up team was led by Marc Smith.
