Seth is known for his outstanding mastery of world mythologies in addition to his strength in the physical sciences and very high level of general knowledge, making him arguably the best player between the peaks of Andrew Yaphe and Matt Bollinger. He led the 2007 Chicago team to a national championship double crown, and repeated the feat in 2009 by leading the 2009 Chicago teams to victories over Brown and Illinois in the 2009 ACF Nationals and 2009 NAQT ICT championships, respectively, making his 2009 title his third straight ACF Nationals title championship. He was also a key player on the 2003 Berkeley ACF National and 2004 Berkeley NAQT ICT championship teams. He also led Chicago to a 2nd place finish at the 2008 NAQT ICT. He has also been on several winning teams at Chicago Open, including most recently in 2011 and 2013.

He was called an "evil archvillian" by the University of Maryland team in a 2008 article.
